Thyroid connected to weight loss?

When you begin to accept that our emotions may, can and often do, make us sick – then you begin to look at dis-ease in a completely different manner.

I’ve been doing this for years – looking at dis-ease in a different way and what I’m seeing is a lot of people stressed out and holding onto pain that manifests in the organ of the body they hold most of their stress.

The Thyroid Gland is at the throat, which is above the heart, and that has meaning when you think about it.

When the heart is open and energy is moving the way it should, the open heart suggests that words (which come from the throat) will be loving, kind, supportive, – in general words from an open and loving heart will be positive.

However, when the heart is closed, which, let’s face it, is not always our fault, then words that are positive in nature can and often do, turn negative and hurtful, often bitter and sometimes downright mean.

So instead of directing all that negative emotion at our loved ones because many of us don’t know how to talk about our hurts, we shove it back down our throats and that’s when the thyroid shuts down.  Synthroid, here we come!

Not only do our emotions affect the thyroid, but the lack of iodine in our diets has a direct affect on us also.

The thyroid is the storage place for iodine in the body.  A lack of iodine manifests as weight gain because the body is looking for nutrients and when there’s no iodine the body simply cannot process nutrients from the foods we eat. Thus begins a slow process of starvation and often the body’s answer to starvation is weight gain.  Iodine is THAT important!

So what are some good natural sources of iodine?  Well, shellfish is a good place to begin.  Shrimp, lobster, crab are good sources of natural iodine.  Another source of good iodine is black walnut tincture.  You can make your own if you have access to a black walnut tree and the bright yellow “balls” that fall off the tree.  Gather those balls once they’ve fallen on the ground and place several of them in a big jar and fill that jar up with a bottle of vodka.  Let that sit for 2 weeks and then strain off the liquid and you have your own home-made black walnut tincture.  This stuff is great for it’s natural iodine so take in small teaspoon doses daily.  It’s also good for parasites in people and pets.  Go easy on small pets and little people.  Or you can just buy it here: https://www.naturessunshine.com/us/product/black-walnut-extract-2-fl-oz/1755/
